It depends on what type of medication. You could ask your docter, Im sure they would know.

Hi! If you have stopped without doctors advisory, you really should tell him/her.
Side affects will begin the next day. By the end of the day, you may feel slightly dizzy, tired, slight headache, a little agitated.
The second day, all those symptoms can possibly feel heightened.
The third day, however, is the real "kicked in" withdrawal feeling. Dizziness/vertigo including tunnel vision, heightened agitation, angry outbursts, nausea.
Vertigo= extremely dizzy, the floors, walls and ceiling seem to be tilted and the space between is twirling. Tunnel vision can be associated with vertigo.
I do recommend you see your doctor. I DO NOT recommend you drive anywhere, as dizziness is a withdrawal symptom, and potentially very dangerous. Vertigo is extremely dangerous when driving.
>Please, see your family doctor. Be safe, feel good and whole.
Sometimes antidepressants are needed for the rest of your adult life, sometimes temporarily yet for a long period of time. If you feel that they stopped working for you, your doctor can change the prescription. Sometimes our bodies become accustomed, so to speak, and need something new.
I wish you well :o)

You said that you have been taking antidepressants for over 12years now, you are not going to take them anymore. Number 1, you really need to discuss this with your prescribing doctor. You are doing a very dangerous and possibly deadly thing. Side effects could take place as soon as you miss severeal doses. Anything from anxiety to seizures. When discontinuing medication it should be under the supervision of a medical professional.

It depends on the medication and how strong it was. Could be it had become inaffective after 12 years. If you do start feeling like you're having a problem, call the doctor. As the old saying goes, "Don't borrow trouble (if you don't have any)."

Withdrawal symptoms normally occur within the first 2 weeks after gradually coming off a medicine. They include, headache, nausea, vomiting, and flu like symptoms. If they become bad, consult with your dr.

you should not stop taking antidepressants cold turkey. It should always be gradual and under a doctor's supervision.

a little bit of twitching because your nerves are going to go back to normal, unstimulated. You are also going to experience a lot of nervous breakdowns and emotional climaxes. So make sure you let everyone know what's going on before they speak to you.

I agree with a heart so big, you should wean yourself off gradually. It can be dangerous if you just stop taking them cold turkey.

It's better to taper off with lower dosing all the way to zero.Otherwise you will be extremely irritable and tearful.

Are you working together with your doctor to wean off of them. I am on Zoloft and was told to never stop them cold-turkey.
