Any dog can be dangerous if not taken care of properly. But in my experiences, no, dobermans are not dangerous, they are just big lap dogs. They are very smart and sweet dogs. Just the same with any dog, you have to make sure you train him or take him to obedience and socialize him well. But they usually are very nice dogs.

I have had dobermans for 17 years and I have never had one I would consider dangerous.
I have had a few that I have worked with who had some serious behavior problems but nothing I thought was a dangerous dog.
I work as a behavioral trainer with a doberman rescue.
I have worked with a few who were very tightly wound and would be very careful around the dog. By far most are very sweet dogs but they are independant thinkers and can be a real handful for new owners as they tend to test the owner to see who is in charge.

I had Doberman's for 20 years, usually 3 or 4 at a time, there wasn't a mean bone in their bodies, they were the sweetest, smartest and best behaved dogs I've ever owned. They did
frighten some people and would bark and carry on while guarding the house or my car but I don't think they would have "attacked" anyone. Another thing, they are extremely clean dogs.

I have owned Dobermans for the past 25+ years and never had a dangerous one.Right now I have three big beautiful, intelligent and loyal Dobies. They are very fearless with tremendous strenght and stamina, yet they are still lovable and very affectionate. What they would do if someone broke in my house..... that could be dangerous, but they are protecting me and our home. I wouldn't want another breed. Don't get me wrong, I love all dogs, but I know this breed inside and out. If I were reincarnated in to a dog a Doberman is what I would want to be. They got a bad rap years ago because ignorant people use to train them to be viscous. All because of their strenght and intelligent. They all have always been my babies and we love each other tremendously.

If a dog isn't propperly trained or cared for there is a greater chance that it will become agressive and therefore dangerous. No dog starts off dangerous, it's how it grows up and what it is taught. And there is no way that any one breed is more dangerous than another. You cannot place the blame of every bite and bark on one breed. ( XP Poo on the breed ban in Ontario.)
No Dobe's aren't dangerous. ^^ They're good dogs and can be family dogs.
Good luck, hope this helps.

IF YOUR A BURGLAR YES!
But if not then I would say that they are not dangerous dogs. Infact they have been bred to take away the aggressive trait that could be found in this breed when first introduced in Germany.
This breed standard now is to be friendly and passive except in circumstances of defending the home or owner. Ofcourse if you mistreat this dog then they could attack but why would anyone want to do that anyway.
It is also worth mentioning that these dogs are noise sensitive. This could trigger aggression if it goes into fear mode.

Dobermans tend to be possessive but most dogs are only as dangerous as their owners make them be... dumb dog= dumb owner; bad dog=bad owner. A dog learns what you teach it...

Only if you train them to be dangerous, or they come from a bad bloodline. Mine was the biggest "woos" that you could ever find. She was a real sweetheart!!!

Only if they are trained to be. All dogs can "turn" at any given moment. I had a friend who had a Yorkie and one day when she picked the little dog up the dog attacked her face...totally bit off her nose.
