FPGAs allow for quick re-cycles of a design. In ASIC design, as a designer you must fully test the design because it cost millions of dollars to spin the silicon.

FPGAs can be reprogrammed in a couple minutes.

* Ease of programming
* Complexity (parts/unit area) is reducing day by day
* Programming (software level) can modify any kind of functionality without having to disturb the hardware
