Problem is, it could be hereditary or hormones that are causing the thinning. I am having the same problems and mine is hormones. I would ask your doctor about it, the next time you are there. I don't believe there is a cure for this problem or a magic serum that will help.

I would recommend Nioxin, before Rogaine. Nioxin will clean out your scalp, and restore your hair if the bulbs are still viable. Rogaine, and Finastriside are chemicals which induce hair growth, but have side effects, and you have to use them everyday to maintain the hair growth. If you stop, you will lose the hair that you've gained from it. This is not the case with Nioxin, it is specifically designed to create a more healthy scalp, which induces hair that was previously there to grow again. You have to purchase it from a professional. I would suggest talking with your professional beautician, or go to the hair place in Wal-Mart, they are considered a professional hair care place, and the prices for Nioxin are usually way better than the local salons!

Yes and yes! 1st of all if you smoke, Quit. Your hair follicles are being deprived of precious oxygen. 2nd, if you're under a lot of stress. Quit. Tension tightens the pathway to the scalp, again depriving your follicles of circulation. Massage your scalp often and do something to help you relax more, but please don't drink alcohol. 3rd, Buy the Yearly Farmers Almanac and look for the page that has The "Best Days in 2007", find the "Best days to cut hair to increase growth" column and cut your hair on those days only. It works.
Take vitamins for the hair and finally use volumizing shampoo and conditioner.

ask ur stylist for a good thickening product. if thats not for you, try a lifting product, this will lift the hair at the roots making your hair look fuller and thicker. or you could just go au naturale! Good Luck what ever you do!

you dont say how old u are. there are products to make your hair appear thicker...but its also a known fact that using dyes and aerosols will kill your roots. best to go grey gracefully.
