Since you are in the religion category here, I quess you want to know what I know for sure in religion? Here it is, ready?
Theres masses of folks out there that believe in something called the rapture theory - have you heard of it? You know, where the end comes and Jesus returns to rapture people out of here before hell breaks loose on the rest of the people - they show pictures of empty cars crashing on the highways, etc...
well, its pure garbage, and the Bible does not ever use that word, nor does it tell of any time at all when people are flown outta here like they have a jetpack or something. Its ridiculous, at best.
They think its true because in 1:thess Paul says we will meet Christ in the Air - only problem is, these church goers don't know the Biblical languages, or the idioms (or sayings) of the time.
The word Air, properly translated, is "spiritual body" - at the 7th trump when Christ returns, we will all be changed into our spiritual bodies - yes, everyone, sinners too, so that we can be judged - When Paul says we will "meet in a cloud" its just a saying like "a school of dolphin" - its a cloud of people, thats all.
Ezekial chapter 13 is very specific. God says "I hate those who teach my people to fly to save their souls". When the Bible states that two are working in the field, one is taken and the other left - people actually want to be the one taken - can't people read anymore? The subject and object in that writing is the coming of the false christ - antichrist - WE WANT TO BE THE ONE LEFT!! yet there is actually books and movies written called "Left Behind". The ones taken are taken by antichrist, who comes BEFORE christ and will deceive many, because he pretends he IS Christ, come to rapture them out. They're gonna get raptured allright - straight to hell for worshipping the wrong Jesus. Unbelievable.
