Through out centuries fear of 'witches' or children of nature have been murdered and condemned in the name of 'God'. People still see and fear the pentagram being the symbol of satan. The Pentagram represents the deities (or god / gods) and the elements of air, earth, fire and water. Basically everything is entwinned. The god and goddess (or god what ever your faith) is in everything and that there is natural order and balance to everything. There is NO affiliation between Satanism and witchcraft. We live in tune with nature and respect it. We respect all walks of life. The basic laws of the craft are simple but powerful ones "So it harms none, do as you will", "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", "Harm not nature for it is the life blood of all that you harm", "Set aside time to praise the earth for from there springs all life".
So where my friends is the evil?

The only reason why anyone has a problem with witchcraft is because of some writings in the bible.

Because they don't bother to learn about what you believe in. They're told that you work for the devil and that's all they need to hear!
I did, however, watch an interesting documentary that implied that the witch hunts of the 1500s and onward were the result of the sciences growing in a patriarchal society. That it was more political than religious. And had everything to do with keeping women in their place and discouraging education.
Rather than compete with the knowledgeable old midwives, Herbalists, and medicine women (Who were often pagan), who people preferred to go to, the Doctors of the Renaissance convinced the church that these women were in league with the devil.
Afterall, they know more than any woman at the time was supposed to know. Women were accused of being witches for doing things like getting roses to bloom in the winter. That's a talented and knowledgeable horticulturalist right there.
Viola! Competition persecuted by the church and the unwashed masses and chased away.

There is no evil in witchcraft! The only evil that there is, is in man!
The same way witchcraft has been condemed is the same way, herbalist, nutritionists, acupuncture, chiropractic, shamanism and the lists goes on and on and on, is called quackery, another man made word, just like witchcraft. This is all done in the name of GOD! Whatever that is!! It is man's ignorance and fear. I like what you wrote, it shows a sense of open mindedness that this worlds needs in everyway. You will always find people who do not see it your way. They are ignorant and it is best just to leave others to thier otherness. Witchcraft has always been entwined not with ,,mother nature" as u like to call Earth, but with satanism, and everywere throughout the Bible, u see witches whom have gotten power from the devil himself and they were condemned and later burnt on crosses or wood. As for the pentagram, the upside star with 5 corners is also mentioned in the Bible as being the resemblence of the Antichrist!!! Don't u get it?

iam with ya more power to ya, I beleive in this, And I d0ont know why people are like this, They are too much hung up on church and God and stuff, which i am very much love angels, But i have studied witch craft, and i really dont think that witch craft is evil, Do you know the best of witches help the police out , and they are great for what ever ails you, I have a good friend who is a witch, and she helps me out with the police Dept

Hey, "The Ear", how do you know your God is "the real God"? You see, you're still living in a box where everything you're told in church is absolute and there are no other possibilities. At least Witches will accept that all religions have some truth in them and not claim that their God is the "right" God for everyone.

There's no evil intend but people have been afraid since the beginning of time. The pilgrims with their witch trials were the worst offenders of humanity. Go on witching.

People condemn it because the know nothing about it. I am studying Wicca right now(I am a Christian,however) and I think it is a beautiful religion.

Murder of anyone is in the same boat with witchcraft, it is a sin. I don't agree with it because the Bible says that we should not do it. If you are fooled that worshipping that symbol is just representation of earth's elements, you are deceived. That is satan wants you to think so that you may open up that portal for him and his demons to come through. God said that His people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. MayGodBless

People fear what they don't understand. And others use that fear to gain power for themselves by claiming to protect people from the perceived object of fear.
