Can a dumbell (that weighs 5 kg) lunge or squat make you grow improperly or can it effect your backbone so you won't grow?

5 kg is very light. If you're doing lunges or most any other type of weight training, it should not effect you adversely. Understand, a person can hurt themselves doing most anything with or without any weights at all. As far as your growth, I don't see anything adverse in the weight you're talking about using. I'm in the gym six days a week lifting and running. It all depends what you want. Weight training is great, but it's not for everyone. Short sprints will build leg strength and cardiovascular endurance as well. Whenever lifting be careful.

Depends what you actually mean, do you mean training with it? I use a 6kg dumbell in each hand for exercising, but it can depend on how old you are etc.
