I was watching Jesus Camp and it seemed to be a common thread that these Evangelicals and Pentecostals want to separate themselves from people who don't believe the same way. They call them their enemies. WHY? What did we do to them? Please someone explain it. I'd love to hear from evangelicals who can explain it without being a jerk about it.

I am not sure if I can explain it, but here goes:
Humans face a bewildering Universe, our genes & our culture make (many(?) of) us see an extremely complicated world.. many of those many seek a kind of comfort zone.. some go for cigarettes, some just think baseball all day long, others go for porn & so on...
Often, the choice of 'comfort' significantly dictates other (not immediately obvious) aspects of your future which soon becomes your present.. one of those aspects is who will give you the time of day... & people, many people, want the attention of other people...
So, for a large-ish proportion of people, the experience of wanting acceptance & wanting that others 'want' their acceptance becomes a big deal... this is especially the case if one has found that not many people value what one values along the lines of cigarettes, baseball, porn, writing a novel, learning ancient Greek & so on.. rejection/lack-of-esteem has two major flavours; one, no one thinks much of your 'sh*t' (e.g: ancient Greek), two, a specific group that you admire doesn't think much of your 'sh*t' (e.g. women reject your porn' obsession)...
So, finally, your question: anyone who 'goes' Christian (or almost any other of the 'faiths') gets acceptance & esteem..there is no doubt about this, you get the acceptance & the esteem... whether that is why you 'signed up' is another question (entirely)...
I think, however, given that most 'faiths' claim that all of that 'faith' are equal, it (the acceptance/esteem) is a big deal for everyone 'of that faith'...
Now, any group that has acceptance & esteem of all members of the community as a 'core selling point', a 'core belief' must, out of necessity, differentiate itself from those outside that community...
If the two of us speak ancient Greek, we are clearly differentiated from those who do not, easily shown by speaking/writing ancient Greek... but if the two of us are Christians, we are not so clearly differentiated, we (supposedly) both accept/esteem our fellow neighbour as ourselves... so no big plus there...
I accept/esteem 'Lucy-the-'ho'' just as much as I accept/esteem you, even if you are a Christian & 'Lucy-the'ho'' is not...
Big minus too, for Christians, same esteem/acceptance got from other Christians as given to 'Lucy' but you, the Christian, must work harder for it!!!!
Now, ain't it obvious that what will happen is that someone will get the bright idea of making Christianity more appealing by making a slight revision & saying; if you're not Christian then you get no acceptance/esteem!!!!?
Not only that, give all that energy that our genetics bring us & all the frustration that 'doing what we are told' but getting nowhere generates a target!!!
We can't hate fellow Christians (or other members of our 'faith'), so why not demonise those outside the faith????
Sure, it's not what was 'n the script originally, but the critics are panning us & the box office receipts ain't that high....
& so that is what happens... hope I haven't been too much of a jerk...

I am a pentecostal, or was, I guess that you would now call me a charismatic,
although I do not thing that charisma is a word that would describe me at all.
and why they would call others of different beliefs their enemies, is a fanatics expression, that is not acceptable. in this day and age.
Christianity has it's fanatics, just like all the other beliefs do.
I have seen Pentecostal Pastors, stop them and straighten them out.
so needless to say that we all do not believe that was.

The more that conservative religionists see themselves as being under threat the more entrenched they become in their beliefs. This isolation from society and mainstream Christianity is encouraging-it signals the beginning of the end for evangelicals and they're destroying themselves which makes it even better.

You are not the enemy. That proves you don't know much right? So you have something against christian for the wrong reason. You hear something, make up your mind and then you decide your faith. That is the problem with a lot of non- belivers. They don't believe because of what they hear, not because of what they read and learn. Satan is our enemy. Not you. Never you.

Everyone love to have a easy life and fulfil their need.
These party are the anger of people who cannot fulfil their need and tranfer the anger to others. Their mind are full of hate and revenge.
They are not the happy group.
They need a savager.

That is the danger when a person or group think they are right and everyone else is wrong.
They need to learn that only the Creator is qualified to judge people of other groups.

One scary movie isn't it? Keeping your group separate has always been a big part of most religions, and a key to maintaining control. You don't want your flock being influenced by other ideas, so you keep them apart. A good way to do this has been with various church laws such as diet, ways of dressing and such.

Judaism was, and still is, all-inclusive -- all the righteous of the nations have a share in the world to come. Jesus preached that only those who believed in him went to "heaven" -- all others suffer eternal punishment.
How can you doubt where the "us" and "them" came from?
