Yeah I would have to agree with answerer above, cut out ALL carbs. Atkins diet. Or you could try Paleo Diet. Same as Atkins but you can have fruit and you have to eat very low fat, no butter or red meat! Try exercising too. You can do aerobics in your living room.

Congratulations on your engagement! That's a special time for a girl. I'm sure you'll be so happy.
There's options to losing quickly. Remember that support is important. You need "cheerleaders" to keep you going. Pick a plan that has this, or join groups that can help.
The fastest weight loss is:
1) Water fasting
2) Kimkins (with the Kimmer Experiment option, super fast)
3) South Beach or Atkins (slower than Kimkins, but OK)
4) Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig (much slower)
5) Exercise alone (good for 1-2 lbs/month)
Exercise doesn't do much for weight loss but any calorie burning is good and there's a bit of residual raise in metabolism for a couple of hours. Not a drastic raise, but anything's better than nothing.
If you can't walk in your neighborhood, what about packing up the baby and walking at the mall? Or see when local schools do sports practice (so you're not alone) and walk laps?

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Don't get liposuction and don't listen to Dr.Berger up there. Liposuction is dangerous and has a lot of risks involved. Forty pounds isn't worth your life. Basically, plain old exercise and diet is what works. If you can't walk outside because of unsafeness, you should go to a mall with a friend, kid or your fiance and walk around. It's warm, safe, populated, and food and bathrooms are there so it's all in one basically. If thats not possible, drive to another section of town and walk around there with someone, or try a gym. Or, play with your kid, which will probably keep you active. You should also diet. But don't starve yourself, because if you do, your body gets hungry and wants something quick and satisfying- which probably means fatty. So always bring around some fruit, veggies or whole wheat crackers to eat throughout the day. Also, refrain from soda or sugared juice drinks. Water is the best choice. Good luck and congratulations!

Just cut down the amount you eat and exercise in the house. I am willing to bet there's some kind of music you like that you can dance to around the house... with your 2 year old. My 3 year old daughter likes to dance with me. I put on some hip hop and go to town, 30 minutes, 3 times a week.
Don't do anything like "cutting carbs", though. Just eat less in general. Take what you would normally take... then put half of it back. Drink a lot of coffee (use Splenda instead of sugar). It has really worked to supress my appetite! I've lost 5 lbs in the last 5 weeks... but I haven't been sticking to my plan 100%. Maybe you can do better than me! Good luck, and congrats.

To begin with, how tall are you? Secondly, eat a real breakfast, possibly lighter might be yogurt and oatmeal, but throw some protein in, like a banana and peanut butter. Lunch, again, devour. Salad and a vitamin water is the lightest you must go. Dinner, try veggies/fruit, some type of protein like hen, and anything with some carbs. Stay hydrated all day, and keep up the exercises. Snack on a protein bar as an alternative of complete junk meals, it tastes just as good :)

Before anything, set more realistic and healthy goals for yourself. Losing 40 lbs in 8 weeks in too much weight loss in too little time. Doctors recommend weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week. Losing too much weight too quickly can set you up for other health issues, including heart problems.
The best way to shed the pounds are by reducing your caloric intake. Try cutting down to 1200 calories a day. It worked for me. And cut out fatty foods and replace them with vegatables, chicken, fish, whole grains, etc.
You should also really try to squeeze in some exercise whenever possible. Some ideas - take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk instead of drive (provided you are in a decent area and the distance isnt too great), buy a workout DVD, research various at-home exercises on the internet (sit-ups, squats, leg lifts, etc).

First of all, how tall are you? Secondly, consume a truly breakfast, might be lighter might be yogurt and oatmeal, however throw a few protein in, like a banana and peanut butter. Lunch, once more, EAT. Salad and a diet water is the lightest you will have to cross. Dinner, check out vegetables/fruit, a few sort of protein like fowl, and whatever with a few carbs. Stay hydrated all day, and maintain up the sports. Snack on a protein bar as an alternative of complete junk meals, it tastes simply as well :)

It is not possible to lose 40lbs in 8 weeks without seriously damaging your general health. If you really NEED to lose 40lbs, then do so over a longer period by eating less, and exercising more.
I suspect the only reason you want to do this is so that YOU think you look "nicer" in the wedding pics, but you should think twice before you take any extreme actions. Your fiancee proposed to YOU, not some other person that looks like you but 40lbs smaller.
What if there were a "magic pill", you took it, and your future spouse thought you weren't so cute any more?

I once lost 20 lbs. in 4 weeks. I did not exercise, I counted my fat grams. I only allowed myself 20 grams of fat a day and i would drink only water and a lot of it. It melted off of me like hot butter.
I did however lose some of my hair, not in patches but it thinned it out some and my finger nails got very brittle. That was 7 years ago that I did that diet and my nails are still brittle. My hair is real thick again but it takes a long time for it to grow. Just be carful. I am sure your husband loves you just like you are. Sometimes we are our own worst critics. Don't be so hard on your self. I am sure you are beautiful just the way you are. Good luck and congatulations on the wedding.

Back when I played football, I drank ALOT of water, ate more fruit (no veggies though, haha), and did lots of running, like 20 miles per week. I went from almost 300lbs down to high 260's, just over 30lbs in 9 weeks (no telling how much fat was lost and how much muscle was gained). You arent gonna lose weight sitting at home. Go to a local (or not-so-local) high school track (should be wrapped around the football field) and jog and do 50 yard sprints. Run until you're TIRED, like when your legs burn and your head is covered in sweat.
