I'm 5'1", and recently my boyfriend has been teasing me about my weight. He'll call me "Mary-Kate Olsen" and tell me to go eat a hamburger. I know he's just trying to be funny, I'm questioning my physical appearence and I don't feel happy about my body right now. Can anybody tell me if my weight is healthy? Thanks.

Yes. As long as you're not starving yourself & eating normally, ie (no vomiting) it's okay. Meanwhile, get a new BF, I think he's being abusive. All my GF's were your size at 16. He's lucky to have a petite, pretty girl like you. F' Him.

Don't worry about weight... it's only a number anyway. You could have two people the same height and weight, one is very muscular and fit yet looks a lot smaller than their chubbier counterpart. So their weight doesn't even matter. It's all about how YOU feel when you look in the mirror. And as far as being healthy... are you eating a balanced diet? At 16 years old, your metabolism is probably still very fast... and you could probably eat tons of junk and still be small. It's all about how your body operates. If you know you're eating and living healthy, then no worries. If anything, treasure it... that awesome metabolism goes away around 25 or so from what I hear. *sigh* 3yrs to go.

No offense, but that I think is too low! What I reccomend you do is that you inrease your caloire intake. Judging from what you saying, your probably putting in half the calories you need for someone your age. You really need to do something. Here are some helpful steps:
1. Increase Calorie Intake. (At least 2,000)
2. Eat more fruits and veggies to not gain fat.
3. Eat more protein but not red meat but seafood that has low fat amount.
4. Get out and exersice. If you can't than for example after doing homework or watching T.V. for a while do some crunches for your abs.
5. Just eat things you like. Now I'm not saying to gorge on sweets but eat healthy things you your self like to eat.

Hope this helps :) Good luck!

It really depends on your normal body type and size if 98 lbs is healthy at 16 years old. If you are eating a balanced diet and getting the appropriate amount of calories daily for your age then yes 98 lbs is healthy. Eat right and get reasonable exercise, you will be glad you did later in life. Find peace.

Gain a few pounds, but do it because you want to. Not because your boyfriend is making fun of you. Better to be a little underweight than overweight.
