Short answer: Different strokes for different folks.
You see, Muslims and Christians in the East have LIVED TOGETHER for many centuries --or more than a thousand years now-- and have "learned" to KNOW and RESPECT each others cultural and religious traditions.
Whereas in the Western world, the introduction of Islam is a fairly "new" phenomenon of only a few centuries at best and it will take quite some time in assimilating with the predominantly Christian-based societies. And, sadly enough, the recent strikes perpetrated by certain radical, Extremist Muslim terrorists have not helped in public relations between the two factions either -- specifically in the U.S.A. which has been hit the hardest by them of late.
True, it is the wrong perception but also understand that the wounds are quite deep and far too fresh for many who have been hurt...
However, you are indeed CORRECT in the sacred teaching that we all belong to the SAME Brotherhood of Man and we each listen to our own Messenger Prophets sent by God/Allah [PBUH].
But ONLY TIME WILL HEAL ALL wounds --perceived or otherwise-- in order for us to reach a common ground of understanding and have a peaceful coexistence throughout the World.
Then and ONLY THEN, His Will Be Done. God is Good and God is Merciful. Praise be to God! Hallelujah!!
Peace be with you.

You see the statement you just made, about Islam is the right religion and Mohammed is the prophet to follow? That's the reason. I believe that Jesus is the one I have to follow.
However, as we are all from the same God, whether he is called Allah or Lord, Almighty we need to be more tolerant of each other and accept each others religion and not preach to the rest of the Christians that Islam is the right religion. I don't blame the Islamic people though, because the Christians went the same way hundreds of years ago, trying to bring Christianity into countries where they should have stayed out off. If each of the religious zealots would mind their own business and stay out of other peoples lives and beliefs the world would be a better place.

Here in the United states I would say that as a whole Christians and Muslims do get along. I am guessing that you live in a country where there is one major sect of muslims which is the majority and that would explain the acceptance of Christians. The militant Muslims that do not tolerate Christians or even other Muslim sects are the problem. There have always been abuses of religion by all religions but the correct Christian way of dealing with other faiths is to not be antagonistic but to offer open discussion on spiritual issues and try to convince others of Jesus and his claims. Christians do not hold Muhammed as a prophet from God because there is no mention from previous prophets of biblical history about him while there is much to be said about prophesies that do speak clearly about Jesus from the biblical history, which just gets more verified, as with the findings of the dead Sea Scrolls.

Here in Brazil christians and muslins do well, in Latin America in general. A muslin was ellected president of Ecuador some times ago, a country where 95% of the population is catholic. The problem is in Europe.
I wanna add something more. In 2003 200 Spanish were killed by bombs intalled by muslims. In 2005 50 British were killed by bombs intalled by muslims. All those people killed was in their country, in their city, they were going to work, those people killed had nothing to do with the decisions of their governments. Many of those people killed were people that have never done anything bad against anyone from any religion or race. Again: they were in their country, in their city, going to their daily work, not killing Arabs in Palestine or Iraq. Those murderers that installed the bombs were legal immigrants or son of legal immigrant. They, or their fathers changed country for some reason, and this new country (Britain or Spain) accepted them, even though they were muslims.
I'm not saying that all muslims are that way and I'm not trying to justify prejudice against muslims. But you asked for a reason and I gave you one.
"I know that Christianism is the right religion and that Jesus Crists is the son of God..." (Is it really needed to make this kind of comments?)

well dear let me tell you a point .... in arab lands were the majourty of citizens are muslims you will find christians lives in peace and respect as in my country egypt .... don't forget that jews also lived in arab lands peacefully ... before israel rise ... you don't find also misbehavior or hattred from muslims to christians faith ... you never see a muslim insults jesus .... but easly you can find a lot of christians insulting prophet mohamed ... if you dont belive me read the questions and answers ....
another proof there's an ideot answered your questions saying that prophet mohamed is not true because he didn't say that jesus is the son of god
but in countries which the majourty is christians you find that muslims doesn't leave in peace as the other side .....
you find a lot of hatred twards muslims .... derespet and a lot of bad things .....
also if the majouty were jews ... you'll find muslims lives in horor like what's happening in palastine .....
that's the main diffence between islam and other religions
i live in egypt ... i do have a lot of christian friends ....

There is much in common between the two faiths, but key differences appear irreconcilable to those who take either faith seriously. The biggest, of course is on just who Jesus was, and what happened to him. To respect Jesus as ONLY a prophet is an insult to Christians, but to see him as divine in intolerable to Moslems.
And what happened at the crucifixion? It is essential for Christianity that Jesus died on the cross. Islam has a totally different account of this, and maintains that Jesus was not crucified.

God created each and everyone of us. He love us, that is why he send he Son to died for us, that we might be saved.
Now, God has not made us as robots. We are unite in that we can choose who we will serve.
Never the less, God is not mock. He is real and he dwells with his people. There is none like him, and they will never be none after.
Now, I am talking about God who made heaven and the earth and all that is in them he made. Am talking about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Am talking about the God who parted the red sea. I am talking about the God, who feed you if you hungry, who clothed you if you need clothes, who give you shelter. Am talking about God, who if you are drowning and you cry out his name, Lord save me, and he saves you. Am talking about the God who has proved over and over again, that he is only the one TRUE GOD.
Now, am sure that many included you might argue that Mohammad is the prophet to follow, but Mohammad is dead waiting in the grave to be resurrected by the God I served. Jesus was dead, but praise God he is alive. He has the keys to deaf when he was raise to life.

I think that we should be allowed to debate. And some muslims think that any criticism of their religion is oppression. Christians and Jews are criticized all the time.
Islam is not above criticism. If it is the true religion, then criticism is no threat to it.
