Some of you have forgotten your history, Britain began engaging the Germans in 1939 alone because the rest of Europe had fallen. America did not enter the war until the middle of 1941, so yes America was in the war for only four years. The reason the war in iraq is taking so long is because the American and British leaders are total idiots. Bush being the monkey and Blair being the parrot trying to imitate the monkey.
so, when Bush goes oo-owoo-wo. Blair goes oo-oow, there you see, Blair got it wrong a gain, he just don't know his wo from his oow. Yes that's the answer when you put to idiots together you get world wide chaos

First and foremost, Iraq has *not* gone on longer than WWII. WWII lasted nearly six years: from the German invasion of poland in 1939 until V-E Day in 1945. (If you want to be technical, WWII started with the Japanese invasion of Manchuria in 1937, but that's neither here nor there.) I don't know where you Bush-haters get your info from.
Once Berlin fell, the war was over. The Germans didn't keep strapping bombs to themselves and blowing up schoolchildren. They even stopped rounding up and killing Jews. Germany had a front line; Iraq doesn't. And we had millions of young men serving. Also, Stimson was a competent secretary of war.
Iraq, OTOH, is a terrorist war. Many fighters came from other countries for the opportunity to kill infidels, which include other Arabs. We are fighting "people" with no regard for any form of life. Even the Nazis were interested in self preservation.
BTW, we lost more soldiers on D-Day than in the entire Iraq war.

we had specific, defined enemies in WW II, the Japanese, Germans, and Italian governments.
Who exactly is the enemy in Iraq?
The so-called "insurgents?" Those are just Iraqis fighting back at the American occupiers.

It is fighting an insurgency. It takes a minimum of 10-15 years to combat an insurgency.

because Bush won't allowed the troops to come back home until they get Iraq stable but that happen because of all the violence that goes on over their but if Bush continue on at this rate then all our troops will be dead and then he be deporting more people and everyone in America will be dead and until he get out of office in 2008 then we stuck with him but i think we should impeach him and then someone will help get our troops out of Iraq.if you want to have farther talk then email me.

You are an idiot. You obviously have never served, and your ignorance of history borders on mental retardation. WWII began in 1939 and ended in 1945. Check your facts dummy.
