i went on this website and it said my waist to hip ratio is 0.9 and i'm "apple" and that it means i'm at a great health risk and i need to lose weight.... but it also said my BMI is 17.31 and i need to gain weight... i also went on other sites and it told me the same thing.. i'm 5'7'' and weigh 110... my waist is lke 25 inches and my hips are like 27 inches... i'm confused... what's right??

I think you are okay, because you are not really apple shaped, but more ruler shaped. This is different and not a health risk. I doubt you have much abdominal fat, the reason your waist/hip ratio is so high is because you have such small hips, probably with very little fat. It is certainly not an issue of having to much abdominal fat, so I would try not to worry too much. You are just one of those random cases, where the waist/hip ratio doesn't indicate your health accurately.
HTH : )

Sweet. Can you send me a pic? Just kidding.
By the measurements you described you sound just about right. Don't go by BMI, it's too general.
My BMI says I'm 25.5 which is overweight. How can that be? I'm 6'1" @ 192 lbs with a 33 inch waist. Oh well....BMI is too vague.
By the way, I'm sure JLo's hip/waist ratio is ridiculous and she looks great.

If you are only 110 you do not want to lose weight. If you do gain weight you are at a higher health risk. You may not have as many curves when you are thin, but you are lucky, because when you gain it will go all over. If you were pear shaped you would gain in the hips and lose in the chest.

You have narrow hips. The BMI is what matters.
Apples are women who gain weight first on their arms and bellies rather than their thighs and butts. Narrow hips does not mean you are an apple - you could in fact be a slim pear.
You are slim, and dare I say it, not the ugliest women I have seen.

Don't just stay there! Do squats while cleaning your teeth, calf raises while standing in line, or lunges while chatting around the phone.

Choose faster-paced methods of yoga such as Ashtanga or perhaps Vinyasa to burn more calories while also getting a good stretch.
