It all depends on where you're stationed. If you're near a military air station, you can get a very cheap flight if they've got any going where you're going, and if there is space available. For the most part, you'll be paying for your own travel, unless you're changing duty stations.

not really no. Space A has a lot of restrictions for SM on leave, and there may be fees involved. Additionally, there isn't always a returning flight, but you still gotta be back from leave on time, so you may end up forking over a lot of money on short notice for a commerical flight to get back in time.

There are nations that are black listed, and depending on which rating you have, even more restrictions(those with security, clearances have a few other places that are forbidden to travel to, for instance. )

There is something called the Armed Forces Vacation Club which gives deep discounts on travel related things. I think you can get a condo for a week for $250 or something like that. I have a friend in the Army and this is how they travel.

Lots of things are available. Space-A travel really is next to nothing, but there's a risk. Once your leave is up, there's no certainty there'll be a return trip available, and you could have to spend big bucks to get back in time, so there's some tactics involved.

Ya, but you are still limited by the amount of money in your wallet. Doesn't matter if you're in San Diego, New York or Dubai, when you don't have a dime, you don't have a dime...
