“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Do you think that means rich people are really condemned to Hell?
What about rich ministers like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson?

It simply means that to be rich, normally you value your riches more than you value your devotion to God. Very few millionares would willfully walk away from every penny if God told them to, would they? That's what Jesus was explaining.

You can be rich and go to heaven, it all lies with your priorities and not being ruled by the money or wealth. I believe Jesus also said "A man cannot have two masters". To do so, will always create conflict and you will never truely serve either.

Blessings and Love

Look closely at the words, does not say Impossible in the correct context, it means that it is very hard, for the scripture also says that the love of money is the root of all evil.
The ten commandments also says that you sahll have no other Gods before Me.That means if you Love anything more than God, it is in effect God, so that could apply to anything, Money , a car, your House,Your Job, anything.
And what about Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy, all are Rich too.
And Ted Turner and Hugh Hefner andn all the others?

what He meant was that is is easier for a loaded camel to enter throught the gates of the city than for a rich man to deny his possesions so as to follow Christa dn enter the kingdom of heaven. Rich people are not condemended to hell, but it is hard not to be materialistic and disctracted by the things or this world when a person is wealthy.

A man had asked Jesus how he could get to heaven and Jesus told him to give away all his money and possessions and to follow him. The guy walked away because he thought more of his things than he did Jesus.
Rich people (to me) feel they dont need Jesus because they have the means of supporting themselves, when we are to rely on Jesus to take care of us.
I do wonder about Fallwel and Robertson. I think they are in it for the money. In the end we will all find out.

It simply means that it is hard for a materially rich person to have the spiritual outlook that is necessary to enter the Kingdom of God, not impossible. There are numerous cases where Jesus used hyperbole in his illustrations and parables to emphasize a point.

As for Falwell, Robertson and their type -------

Matt 7:21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

Not everyone claiming to be from the Lord is actually from that source.

ll Corinth 11:12 Now what I am doing I will still do, that I may cut off the pretext from those who are wanting a pretext for being found equal to us in the office of which they boast. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works.

The Lord means that rich people have a hard time making it to heaven because they have all they need here on earth and often feel no need to reach out to God. In other words they feel they have no need here due to their sucess.

God alone knows who has rejected Him (and will continue to reject Him) and therefore spend eternity away from Him even as they chose for this life..... to be away from Him. They make the choice now.

We don't know which people are making which choice. God knows because He will decide when the heart of each person is revealed on the Day that He has picked.

Ya know! Bill Gates is enormously rich, beyond comprehension. He is probably the most philanthropic man that has ever lived. He is not only materially wealthy, but in his heart and soul he is rich.

God Bless him!!!

He meant a rich man that doesn't know the Lord. You need to read that verse in its full context then make judgments

No. What it means is that worldly "success" (ie, riches) will NOT buy you a ticket into heaven.
