I mean u talk bad about women in Islam and the way they are treated .knowing that u got it all wrong, cause im Muslim girl and never been happier with my life…and yeah….i wear hijab and don’t wear "fake hair" like many stupid people said….i actually have the nicest hair thank you
Anyway….did u forget while talking about women in Islam that the U.S has the higher numbers of :
Crimes, especially pregnant women from a street sex
In rape
In abusing people "sex abuse"
In DEVORCE
In hitting women….i mean lots of American men I saw on TV are in jail for killing their women or hitting them
Has the higher number in prostitutes asking for money ……
And ya not to forget mentioning the single mothers who were left alone after knowing from the fathers that "she is pregnant"
And also higher orphans and street kids

So do you think u r fair?or let me be fair…and say that u may not really know the truth. I mean the media in U.S is like lying to a kid…maybe you are shown the wrong side of everything…is that the reason…if not then what's this big reason?

I appreciate your question. Yes, there are a lot of stigmas about being Muslim. I think that the more people know about your faith, the more accepting they we be of it. Even though we are a multicultural society, we sometimes overlook each others differences and the good aspects of those differences. Every faith has its hypocrites and pretenders. That goes for Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and any other ideology. Should we judge a whole group for the words and actions of a few. I say not.

I agree with the First Dragon. You're seeing it on American Media because the society allows freedom of press. In many muslim countries it's considered the woman's fault if she's raped. It's kept secret, and if it gets out the woman can be killed to preserve the honour of the family.

It's not so much a religious thing, as a cultural thing. Yes you see more of it on American media, but that doesn't mean it happens more. Same as how people argue that America has declined and is more violent since the religious wack jobs stopped forcing their lies on children in schools. Yes, there was less violence broadcast in the news then (I'm thinking of the 1950's here)..but it was also considered socially acceptable to beat ones wife, children, and ethnic minorities.

"I mean the media in U.S is like lying to a kid…maybe you are shown the wrong side of everything…is that the reason…if not then what's this big reason?"

Or maybe, your media just isn't showing you enough of what is REALLY happening around you.

Okay, you convinced me that Islam is great. It's only fair that a woman should have four eye witnessed if she's raped. If she can't get the four she will be executed for illegal sex. You know most rapists like to have a big audience.
A girl gets gang-raped because someone in her family did wrong. Serves her right, she should have been born into a different family.
The men say that if they get a glimpse of a woman's ankle , they might not be able to control themselves. It's the Muslim men, with no self control, but they make the women cover themselves with a tent in the hot summer sun. Why aren't the men be required to wear blindfolds in the presence of women? After all, it's they who can't control themselves.
Same in the mosque. The men say that if women were in the back of the mosque, the men wouldn't be able to concentrate on their prayers, some "men".
Now lets get to kids. The great Mohammad ( pease on him ) liked kids, not to play with like a grandfather. He had a nine year old in his harem as a sex slave. Wasn't he great ?

I admit that I do not know a whole lot about Women in Islam, but it sounds as though you offer up some good arguments. I recently read "Lipstick Jihad" and I loved it. I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in the Islamic worls and the American culture and how they cross over for some people.

Are you talking about religion or nationality? In countries where women are oppressed, all women are oppressed, not just one religion.
In America, when a man beats or kills or rapes a woman, we try to put him in jail. We are open about that. We want to know when a crime is committed so we can punish the criminal. That is why you can see it on TV. Most people here are living peacefully, and that is not "news" so it doesn't get on TV.

It's good to hear from a Muslim girl; sounds like you have been reading the ramblings of some of our more vocal, and stupid, fellow Americans.

Women in our culture here in America have been taught to embrace victimhood in general. They claim it as their own and then expect women from all other cultures to do the same. We need to remember that just because people aren't like us doesn't mean they are somehow unhappy.

People are generally happier when they are free but also living with clear rules. You're cultural rules don't bother you so why should we object to them? We see you as somehow less free, less happy, when in reality we have no clue...typical American behavior.

Women in our culture are probably just as happy and content as you are, with the high crime, rape, abuse--all of it. It's drama we've become ... comfortable with . In reality we're miserable and one day hopefully women will move back a little toward taking more responsibility for the unhappiness and stop acting like victims and expecting all other women to be victims too.

Many people in this country, and especially in the Media, are at war with Traditional Values. They will attack any religious group that still has them. I am a Conservative Christian, I try to uphold traditional values, and I get persecuted for it.

You asked this b4? why again???? is it to spread your propaganda?

US media is not always correct. However its not controlled by the government so has no reason to lie. Rape is crime in America and dna is used to convict the criminals. In many muslims countries you need 4 witness. DNA is not allowed. Human rights are far behind in the Muslim world. You are lying to your self if you think America is worse then some Muslim country in the middle east.

"i mean lots of American men I saw on TV are in jail for killing their women or hitting them" Yes we send them to jail what is your point as in LET Them be free?? I think the numbers of men are far less then YOU think.

Look at the human rights web site and compare where ever your from to us. America is not perfect but i doubt your country is ahead of us.

You say US media is lying how do you know if your media isnt lying to you? Our media has many view points. They all dont agree. If your media is constant in its massage is it fair?

It is not the USA that thinks muslims woman are mistreated in Islam its the whole civilized world. DO your self a favor and work on solving the problems in your world and we will work on our selfs ok???

NExt time you ask this PLEASE tell me what country you are in?

I agree with you sister. Hijab exemplifies the respect women get in Islam.

It is funny how they love to find faults in our system when US prison population is over 2 million.
