First of all is it a good idea to go to a friends Office Christmas party (at a hotel). Also he said that I gotta wear a suit. So does this mean suit and tie... or a suit and just a shirt inside. Also Which shirt will go with a black suit... I have an Arrow one with vertical bluish stripes or should i just wear a plain white one???

There is nothing wrong with attending a friend's office Christmas party with him, provided that he's permitted to bring a guest.
I went to my sister's office Christmas party with her two weeks ago since her husband was out of town at the time. The dress code was "business casual," but my sister and a couple of her co-workers said they were going to wear jeans (trouser-styled jeans, in my sister's case). Although I very much would have preferred to wear jeans, I didn't want to do anything to rock the boat and/or embarrass my sister, in the event that she changed her mind at the last minute and wore dress pants instead. I went in a dressy black turtleneck, khaki pants and nice shoes. No embarrassment.
Your main job at this party is to not embarrass your friend in front of his boss & co-workers. If he said wear a suit, wear the suit. I don't love blue with black, so I'm going to recommend the white shirt. Definitely wear an undershirt under the shirt, and put a tie on. You may choose to wear any tie that expresses your personality - however wacky that might be - as long as what's on it is not vulgar or obscene. If you find the tie unnecessary once you get there, just take it off (but not as part of a striptease you're doing on top of a table with a lampshade on your head!).
Have fun!

Hmmmmmm. Usually going to a friend's office Christmas party means you are the significant other - or at least a date of that person. Sounds like since it is at a hotel - it is not just a "come by and have a drink" kind of thing. It's an "order your fish, steak or chicken sit down kind of thing" I mean - he told you to wear a suit. I don't know about this. Would you be like a date? Is his office okay with homosexual couples? You might laugh or gasp - but I'm serious.
Regarding the suit - a black suit with a white shirt will work just fine (it's very safe) - and yes - you should wear a tie.
But, you know - FIRST - I'd talk to my friend and see what's up. I just find it odd that he's inviting his "buddy friend" to his office party. But - it could all be good, as I might not have all the info in my head.

I would say yes you should go to the Christmas Party with him. You will probably have a wonderful time! I would say your best bet is to make sure if you drink do it in moderation and don't discuss touchy subjects. Also I would say if he said to wear a suit, wear a suit and tie. I would also wear the shirt with the blue stripes because I think it would be more interesting and attractive than plain white. Hope this helps!!!

Certainly it's OK to go the his office party provided he is entitled to bring someone. A black suit with white shirt and Jerry Garcia tie should be outstanding. Very sophisticated and stylish.

Go with the arrow shirt with a tie. You can always ditch the tie.

if you normally wear a saree, please do. They are beautiful garments, and a great conversation starter. People will be interested in knowing more about your culture. The more you talk with others, the better your english skills will get.
