The MINIMUM that the airline should pay is...
(sorry its in USD and Lb's , but thats what the treaty says....
$10 USD (or equivent in local currency..) per imperial pound in wieght of checked in luggage
(thats $22 USD per Kilogramme)

You would need to take a look at your Travel Insurance policy. There should be a section for lost baggage. I believe it to be around £75 but check your policy. Failing that, I would contact the airline who you flew with.

Check with the airlines what their policies are. Usually it is about $1,200 a bag. You have to buy everything back and provide them with your reciepts.

They pay for replacement of your bag at current value - providing you can provide a receipt for the replacement. They pay for contents as well plus inconvenience money

this happened to a friend of mine not to long ago they want to see reciepts for the contents of her bag who keeps every reciept after a week of emails they agreed on a flat amount there was no way to prove it one way or the other

google the Warsaw Pact.
at the end of the day, not very much - they pay you out by the weight of your luggage, not what it cost you to buy the clothing et. al.

thumbs up to your question.. i have never flown so i don't know, but if i did and my things got lost i would expect something to get me by.. it's not like i lost it..so yeah there should be something!!! love the question! =)
