No, seriously. I'm not venting, I'm asking!

I don't mind what religion you belong to, just give me your opinion.

Such evil things happen in the world. Babies being raped. Beyond belief, right? Not just with humans. Watch the slow and painful death of an animal eaten alive by African wild dogs. I feel God doesn't live up to what He is supposed to be and it makes me frustrated. To quote Tori Amos, where are those angels when you need them?

It is a common misconception that "God" will intervene in your life to save you from something terrible.

Look at the story of Job, specifically verse 40.

Human beings, and by the way Angels as well, are endowed with 'freewill' and that allows for the most awful things to happen.

Life comes and life goes.... some believe it even returns.
Others hold to the idea that the "next world is better than the last".

Some actually believe that the better they are (read nicer, or sometimes RICHER) the better the next world will be.

In certain places, the poor are looked down upon because "obviously they did something to deserve such misery".

Hi Nog, I really believe that God hurts too when He sees the inhumanity of His Creatures and also the Angels hide their heads and weep at our cruelty to one another,we have been commanded by God to love each other and that means to look out for each other and do no harm.

Perhaps that is part of why the beast in Revelation 17 is a description of the USA.

Perhaps with as much disdain as a bad Devil would have to observe the good things that happen....
