Because Religion effects the way a government works. It regulates ethics and gives a boundary between good and evil. To get rid of religion would be detrimental to the human race.

i have an idea how about we as a people use common sense logic and reason instead of religion i mean seriously you don't have to be religious or claim a religion to have morals am i right or wrong but what the hell do i know about morals since i'm agnostic and to some religious people i would be considered to be immoral

many people think that way, and i disagree. my religion is NOT a crutch --- it's a sword to help me fight against the evils and tempations in the world. i believe there is a God and that if i study my religion, live its teachings, and pray, then Father will hear my prayers and i can feel the Spirit and have a stronger relationship with Him.

Its been done already, witness especially the fruits of atheism in the last century, a system built by men without religion. 60 million dead, millions incarcerated in gulags by the likes of Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Kim Jong Il, etc. Systems of men built without God are bound to fail because they are built of nothing but vague foundations, and failed miserably they have.

the problem is -
all the religions are made up that's why they're crappy
except for the Jewish religion, that one is the original one and therefore the best

If you couple religion with common sense, you don't need to come up with anything else.

Many of us are that dumb, and aren't smart enough to know how dumb we really are.
