I need some tips on going from a standard earring size to a 14 guage bcr type of jewlery.

I don't know if I'm supposed to just go for it and try to put it in, or do I need to get a piercing needle to sort of help ease it in there? I don't know if the bcr will go in very easily since it doesn't exactly have a point, kwim?

If there's someone out there (with experience please) who can give me step-by-step instructions... I'd appreciate it.

It's really simple, I did it a couple of months ago. Ideally you should start with a 16 gauge because it's not as drastic of a enlargement but I went straight to a 14 and my came out fine. First you need to find a 14 gauge taper. Usually the tapers come with 14 plugs too for after you've healed. MAKE SURE THEY'RE MADE OF SURGICAL STEEL! After you buy them, wash them in hot water, preferably boiling, and antibacterial soap. After they're clean, wash your hands and ear lobes as well and then you can begin the stretching process. Now I did my right ear by just shoving it in with an occasional break to soften my lobe with a wash cloth soaked in HOT water. The left ear I did in the shower and it was so much more easier. So if you have time, take a hot shower and do everything in there. Tapers come with two little black rubber stoppers; put the first stopper on before you guage your ear on the front and the put the second one on after on the back. Afterwards they will probably be sore so put a little ice on them for an hour or so to stop swelling. Make sure you don't put the backings on too tight because they will probably be a little swollen while they heal. Also, it's really important to wash them everyday with antibacterial soap (again, easier to do it while in the shower right before you get out). Don't touch them unless you're washing them and make sure to keep them dry! Sometimes they may get infected (scary as hell, I know) but DON"T take them out. If you take them out you could heal over the infection and have to get it drained at the doctor's office. So if they do get infected, wash with antibacterial soap twice a day and keep your hair pulled back away from them (a lot of times infections are from oils in your hair or hair products). After they've healed you can replace them with the plugs.

If it particularly is a crimp on ball there are a certin style of plyers that maximum peircing places have. Take it from somebody who works in a shop ... circulate to somebody who does it for a living by using fact in the event that they screw up they are accountable. Do it your self and take the acceptable of your ear off you in simple terms ought to stay with the acceptable of your ear lacking.
