I got a digital rebel EOS as a gift, and I am told ti takes video but cant figure it out and I dont have a manual. Can anyone tell me if it does take video and possibly where online I can find the manual? google does not know all! :)

generally speaking, most digital SLRs do not take videos. they are tuned and designed for taking high quality still photos. what you really want is a compact digital camera or a digital camcorder that can take still photos, depending on what is more important for you - photos or videos.

With an SLR camera there is a mirror that hangs down in front of the shutter that allows the photographer to genuinely see through the lens what the camera intends to photograph. This arrangement prevents the camera from taking video.

I owned a Digital Rebel and an XT...they are both Digital SLR's. They do not take videos as SLR stands for single lens reflex.

I don't think it does.These are DSLR which has a mirror to view through the lens. Don't click on the link above it take you nowhere.

A DSLR doesn't take video.
