Why not? It's no different from worshipping anything else. Like a flying spaghetti monster. Or Jesus.

first of all the picture is not of a monkey, i'm surprised at how many of the imbeciles couldn't tell

secondly the color blue represents the divine and the inifinity of the universe because hindus believe in one god who is the essence of the universe, idol worship is symbolic, and i admit, it has gotten out of hand

but it's really low and obnoxious to insult other religions, not just religions, but beliefs, grow up

hindus tolerate every religion at least respect the religion or try to find out about the religion without asking condescending or sarcastic questions, it's just rude

That seems to be Vishnu, one of the many faces of Brahman. I'm not entirely sure everybody worships god the same way. Sometimes god can simply be a guide to moral behavior so you might pose questions, even respect it, make token offerings with the expectation of his or her interceding - all activities that fall short of adulation or worship. It's a big world, check it out.

The overweight guy is not Buddha, that is Hotai, the mytical Chinese god of happiness. Buddha (Siddartha Gautama) was an Indian prince, and was a real person.
