soap and water wash of dirt but they do not kill bacteria unless the soap says antibacteriall.
The hot water kills the bacteria and viruses. They can tolerate cold water but most germs and viruses die in hot water. That is why the health advocates tell you to wash with hot water.
And yes, 30 seconds or longer. When you are done washing your hands, use a paper towel to turn off the water and open the bathroom door.
If you do not have hot water or antibacteria soap, try an alcohol based sanitizer with at least 66% alcohol. It kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.

Yes, as long as you wash for at least 30 seconds and make sure the soap gets plenty sudsy. The heat of the water doesn't add much to the cleaning power. It's almost purely the soap.

you kno you should turn on the water with a paper towel or toilet paper or whatever cuz when your done with your business you turn on the water to wash your hands right and when your done washing your hands, you turn it off but there is still bacteria on the knob thing so there wont be a point in washing your hands if you do that....i kno this could be confusing sorry
