break a popsicle stick in half ( do not cut it break it so the edges are rough) then tape it to your thumb with the rough side where it will poke you if you stick your thumb in your mouth. You can also soke the stick in vinager to make it taste nasty. If that doesnt work try taping it to your second finger therefore makeing sucking your thumb more difficult! I went through this same thing when I was young and these were the things that worked for me. My mom just did something different every night so I sould not get used to just one thing and learn to work around it!

i think of this subject is as much as the mothers and fathers somewhat. i don't be attentive to if i purchase the thought thumb sucking leads to undesirable tooth. I sucked my thumb until i became ten and mutually as I do think of that became somewhat too previous, my tooth are fantastic. they are completely right this moment, I in no way mandatory braces and that i've got in no way had a hollow area.

I know this sounds cruel but it worked for me at age 11. Try wearing heavy gloves to bed. Also tying your arm up on a bed post. Yes, I am serious. This is a lot less dangerous then cutting yourself.

well, old habbots die hard.maybe its because you are nervous or just because when you were little sucking your thumb use to comfort you when something tragic happened.you can got to a therapist or just try to solve the problem on your on..BUt cutting it will not help solve your problem.if you put your mind to it then you will lose this habbit.you should find something to distract you from going to your thumb, for example a lolipop or some gum

Try using the nail polish that tastes really bitter--it's clear. It's mainly used for people who bite their nails, but works the same for thumb-sucking. Good luck!

Spray it with apple bitters, which can be purchased at pet stores. It tastes vile and is used to dissuade dogs from chewing on things.

Tape a sock around your forearm before you go to bed so you can't get at it.
