This is a problem more common among Dogs then Cats.

You don't know it,.. but those feces and tissues smell like yummy stuff your Dog would eat.

Tissue is probably full of plant smells,.. milk,.. and then whatever those tissues have been around in the store and in your sister's purse.

Cat feces is FULL OF FOOD smells. Do you ever give the cats special treats the dog doesn't get? Your dog wants that stuff. You could try putting out a little lightly cooked boneless steak,.. you need to cut into one inch cubes. It won't be fair but DO NOT LET the Cats have any,.. or else your dog will be in the litter some more. Maybe work out a system where you only put one cube out a day near the food for your Pug.

If that does not seem to interest your dog then NEVER let it around Kittens... some dogs think Kittens are Yummy >.< Try getting some Doggy Bacon treats at the store and make your Pug be tortured into working it's butt off through obidense routains or little tricks until you give it a piece. This will distract and put focus on those treats and the location of those treats.

Now another reason I suggested the steak humans eat is some times pets are lacking something from their food.. there is just no way to get it strong enough in food without getting fresh produce. They may also just be feeling this need to hunt down and eat fresh meats for a range of reasons. If it's the playing hide and seek to hunt down you really want to do, hide the cubes of meat or treats into toys with centers that are designed to make pets work to get to the center.

Lastly,.. I can't remember if I said this, if there is anything the Cats are eatting that the Dog isn't... it may want that... so badly it will eat feces to get to it.

All dogs do this kind of stuff. We refer to the kitty litter raids as "cat snacks". I turned my covered litter box towards a corner, with just enough space for the cats to get in (my box is a large one). That way the dogs can't get back there. I don't really worry about the tissue eating. It's kind of messy but it doesn't hurt the dogs any. I try not to leave those lying around, and discipline the dogs if the start nosing in the trash for them (or anything else as their noses don't belong in the trash!)

How about putting a gate up so she can't get to the litter box? Poop eating is actually a natural thing for dogs to do, wild canids count select poop as part of their diets! Maybe add a step-on wastebasket so your sister can be tidier with her tissues! At i y.o. your dog still thinks like a puppy and puppies tend to chew many things: some dogs never outgrow it. Tissues eaten in volume could cause an intestinal blockage which is often fatal and at best requires expensive surgery, ESPECIALLY in dogs with big chests and narrow waists.

I would just keep an eye on her and anytime she does something wrong just pick her up and look into her eyes and firmly say "No.", but don't yell at her. Pugs are smart; you could probably train her to stay away from the litter box and from doing other nasty things like eating tissues, lol.

My dog tries to get to our cat's litter box all of the time. Since our cats stay inside, we moved all of their stuff into a different room. The dog can't get to the litter box unless it tears the door down!

Keep the cat litter box up higher, and pick up all of the tissue

You can buy a litter box that has a lid and a hole in the lid for the cat to go in and out. This is what I did and the dogs can' get at it.

well my friend has this spray that you can get in different scents and flavors. her dog keeps getting into the trash so she sprays a little bit on the floor and wipes it with a paper towel. you cant smell it or feel it on the floor. but the dog smells and tastes it and knows to back away. after you start to notice him leave that area alone, you can stop spraying the area.
