You don't have any friends who do braids? Or friends of friends? Usually if you get somebody from around your way to do it, it's cheaper than going to a shop.

What's the texture of your hair like? Looking at your avatar, I'm assuming you're white, and I know some white people's hair is too thin to put in tight braids.
