i have tried to install the wmp-11.but while installing it said that i need to validate my copy of windows and the set process ended.now how can i install wmp-11?

The easiest way is opening Media Player of any version. It will recognize the existence of a newer version and will install it after asking your permission.

Go to "Windows Dowloads" and it is listed....takes a few minutes to download and install on DSL but lots more versatile than old one.

Try downloading it again. Or right click on My computer, click manage, click services and applications, click services, find that service in the list and end and restart it.
