Making applesauce cranberry muffins. Recipe calls for fresh or frozen cranberries. I have never made this before. Store did not have frozen so I bought fresh. Do I need to cut them up or use the whole berry?? Should I run them through the food processor? I already picked out the bad ones when I washed them. Just not sure if I need to cut them or crush them or use the whole berry?

Leave them whole but toss them in a tablespoon of flour before adding to your batter, that way they will not sink to the bottom, if you cut or copped them they will bleed and make your muffins soggy.

Take it from a former chef and baker.

what did the recipe say to do to the cranberries?

Frozen cranberries are almost alway whole intact berries. The only difference would be the temperature.

Mince and add sugar to taste. Use as any other fruit.
