What you need is a bit of software like adobe or for a cheaper program do a search for PDFactory. it converts all text documents into pdf for reading in adobe 7.0.
then you just make a data disc and burn all your books to that.

what you are getting is "rar" files similar to winzip files. You will need to download winrar and convert them/extract them , they will then open up as avi/mpeg which can be burned onto disc for watching.
