It depends on the airport. Some airports are not 24hr airports......therefore....no you can't sleep there. If you are flying and you have a small amount of items that you can secure somewhere like under your legs so that if someone tries to take them, you will wake up more power to you. Take a nap. Residence is highly frowned upon!

yes people that get stuck there sleep all the time...but if u try to live there it will not work

Yes. You can't live there but in between flight is fine.
