I had it a couple of years ago. But i'm not eating now, and think i'm so fat. Everything right now is pretty crazy. School is tough and all. I only eat about 100-200 calories a day, but I have kept it from my mom. A couple of my friends i think suspect it, but they don't really care much anymore. I've lost quite a few pounds. 5'3 and weigh 102.5. I feel so fat though. I'm kinda afraid. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You lose at least one calorie per minute. 3500 calories is one pound. You can eat a lot more than 100-200 calories a day and not gain weight. Get a mantra to help you battle this, tell yourself you are beautiful, or something along those lines. Not eating puts your body in starvation mode where your metabolism drops so it doesnt really help what youre trying to do. A healthy weight loss plan is running and eating healthy. Run a mile-3 miles a day, youll get in shape and be able to eat more and not gain a thing. Lack of nutrients leads to many complications.

It's a tough thing to do, but I think you should talk to our mom. You should not feel shame in this, and everyone needs help at some point. Believe me, keeping secrets like this to yourself eat you up inside. Sharing with someone will take some of the burden off of you. If you really don't feel comfortable telling your mom, try a teacher or guidance counselor at school that you are close with. You're not alone in this.

I have battled Anorexia for 12 very long years and unfortunately you will fight it for your whole life. It is sort like alcholism, one drink for a recovering alholic and they are right back into it. I have gone up and down and around and around with it all these years. Over time I kinda learned the triggers that set it off but that does not mean I control it. You may want to consider counseling before you get too deep into it again. You can email me if you want at tritanbear@yahoo.com if you want to talk. I know where you are coming from. It could be the stress of school that has set you off again or just general life's stress but if you do not start to work through it you head down a dangerous road that is harder and harder to get off every time you go down it.

persistent lack of appetite not caused by repletion. It may spring from psychoneurotic causes, as in anorexia nervosa (q.v.), a lack of appetite, primarily in young women, that may lead to extreme emaciation and even to death. Anorexia, like nausea and vomiting, may be brought about by shock, pain, or an inadequate supply of oxygen to a centre in the medulla oblongata (the part of the brain immediately above the spinal cord). An increase in pressure within the skull may cause anorexia, nausea, or vomiting, as may infections in the mouth or badly fitting dentures. Obstruction at some point in the gastrointestinal system, chronic disease of the kidneys, liver disease, allergic reactions to foods, and the taking of certain drugs (e.g., amphetamines) are among the many other causes of the disorder.

Many patients ask me how they can slim down. I am against prescription pills because I prescribed them many years ago, and some of my patients became very ill.

I now recommend that people eat right and exercise. However, if they would like a little "help", I now recommend an herbal diet patch called curb your cravings. The patch releases the correct dosage of a completely safe herbal mixture over a 24 hour period.
You can pick up a one week free sample of the patches for only $5.95 (including shipping)! http://www.alllsite.info/herbal-weight-loss-patch.php . My patients have seen dramatic results with this particular non addictive weight loss aid.

Go to the Doctor that helped you before. Bite it in the butt before it gets out of control again.

Volunteer your time in a cancer ward once a week. See how good you have it, and where Karen Carpenter types end up.
