My other birds are never locked in the cage, but I just need a place to put the food and a place for the bird to hang out. I have a Macaw and a Quaker.

If you lived in Australia id have said try looking at www.dealsdirect.com.au I have bought GREAT cages and bird play gyms from here and they are priced GREAT!
other than that you really cant go wrong with Ebay although a lot of people on there buy there products from wholesale distributors (like deals direct *Glares at naughty ebay sellers) and then they sell it in their ebay shops for double the price, perhaps google up Wholesale Pet Supplies for your area and see what you come up with first. =) GOOD LUCK

Petco has big bird cages but they are kinda pricey. I think petsmart might be a little bit cheaper or go to the mall and see what the prices are on their bird cages

If you're going to rescue a bird, you need to be prepared financially for it. if you can't afford the cage, i sugges you not adopt because this is just one of many things that are expensive essentials. birds are not cheap, especially big ones (like cockatoos or macaws) if you're adopting a cockatoo, please look at this site first before you decide on anything. www.mytoos.com Bird cages are typically quite expensive if you want one that lasts. also, birds need lots of expensive toys, perches foods and vet bills (make sure you find an avian certified -you can find one here: www.aav.org/vet-lookup, with bills that are at least $200/visit) hope this helps! good luck!

Actually depending on your area, search under yahoo groups for freecycle, it't groups in pretty much every area that you can ask or give away items. Everything on that site is free, it is a simple way to get rid of junk that you dont want laying around also. But you can put up an add looking for a birdcage and if someone happens to have one you get it for free!

I ordered mine off of Ebay. It's about 3 feet tall and 2 feet square and came with a stand. I paid like $60 for it!

Try eBay. You don't need a brand new cage. Just look for one that is in good shape.
