Hello,
My eight year old has stained the tub yellow because she pees in the bathtub. What can I do to help her not do that.

make her use the bathroom before she gets in the tub. some times the water can stimulate the muscles by relaxing them and therefore causing a release that snt controlled. I know when ig et in the tub/shower i hav to pee again even though i JUST went 5 minutes earlier..... but if your daughter is peein just to pee...then you have to do soemting about it. i dont know wht though...talk to the doctor if you think there might be medical problem...sometimes a UTI can cause it...you could also make her take showers. shes old enough

OK seriously people, there's no way she's staining the tub by peeing in it. She can only hold at the most, about 12 ounces of urine (which is already pretty dilute anyway) to 30 or more gallons of water in the bath. Even straight urine will not stain a solid surface unless it stays there for many hours, let alone urine that is so watered down that you wouldn't even be able to detect it if you didn't know it was there.

Your discoloration is coming from impurities in the water (which can include those found in urine, but there are many others that come from the tap), which build up over time. In other words, if you're not scrubbing your tub periodically, it's going to yellow anyway. Solvents like Tilex are pretty good at removing these buildups. Just try cleaning the tub once in a while.

I think she'll eventually grow out of peeing in the tub if you just ignore it. She may do it for the attention, or because the temperature of the water relaxes her muscles causing them to release, or maybe it just feels good to go in the tub when she's all relaxed like that. You could always try to teach her to go before she gets in the tub, but I think you're sweating the small stuff. She's not doing anything that's going to hurt her or the porcelain.

k, this might sound like a silly question....but do you mean she pees in the bath, or instead of peeing in the toilet, she pees in the tub? I had the latter problem with my son , and it's just a matter of explaining how unhealthy it is, and checking up on them randomly to be sure they are doing the right thing......hope i don't sound like the idiot here....

When hot or warm water hit your body (or atleast my body) I have to pee so when I take a shower and warm water hit me I have to pee.Its normal to have to pee when taking a bath and it is to much trouble to get out of the tub/shower when you are already in it so it normal to pee in the tub/shower

i only went by using this and it became a nightmare. i became in the bathroom doing #2 and couldn't precisely get off the bathroom and my 4yr previous says i fairly ought to pee with the intention to circumvent him from getting in his pants i informed him to apply the tub, properly after that for 3 weeks without delay all he needed to do became pee in the tub. We had to pass in the bathroom everytime he had to pass to make constructive he became utilizing the bathroom. perchance to him is seems neat to reveal screen the pee go down the drain or some thing. clarify for your nephew or have his mom do it that once he pees in the tub at the same time as he is going to take a bath he will be bathing in his pee pee and he will scent gross at the same time as he receives out or that he can make human beings ill at the same time as he pees in the tub. attempt no longer to make a huge ordeal out of it or he will keep doing it.
