I am a Christian and i can tell you that everyone of the same or different belief or religion will say something different. I will state my opinion in this answer. There is good and evil, right? Of course. That's the same thing what i believe with spirits/ ghosts. Demons come upon a person or people to carry out demonic acts. Like what human in there right mind will stab a person 16 times, young ones shooting people in there schools, and check this out: This week a 14yr old boy was shot 6x by someone to steal his gold teeth.
But I believe the spirits of the good, come upon us with such great comfort. Like (to those who believe in) the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost. For some who have lost their love one(s) comfort they're family and friends by appearing in dreams, memories and / or visions.
You don't always have to see a spirit or ghost, but they are among us. Either you could feel their presence or see actions.
I may not have the best answer but I hope you understand, this is my opinion.

I'm not a Christian, but ghosts are most likely the result of stored energy in old buildings; in other words, you're not seeing an actual person, but a playback of events (when there was a lot of emotional energy in a given place, like during a murder or other time of great stress) that was somehow recorded by the surrounding environment. There might be a couple exceptions, but I think that would explain the vast majority of ghost reportings.

Shalom Elisha,
Ghosts are disembodied spirits who either have unfinished development on earth or people who were part of various religions who believed they will be sent to a heaven in they sky or some other disenfranchised dogma. So when they die they are remarkably confused on why they are still a part of the material world. Some are usually unaware that they are dead for a long time, some wait for Jesus to come save them. Buddhists sometimes just sit and chant mantras. Eventually, they realize they are dead and what little spiritual gain they made in their lives are absorb into the soul. They are then sent back here in order to try to bring themselves to completion.
Also note, that some people fail to complete their objectives in life and can sometimes fulfill them by helping friends and relatives while disembodied.
Peace
Aza

I dont know from cristian standpoint, but i think ghosts are lost souls who could not transition to the other world
Demons are those ghosts who have stayed on like ghosts for a loong period sucking energy from all forms of life and growing in power...
Demons are very rare, but harmful beyond belief. Ghosts need not be harmful.

Ghosts are evil spirits pretending to be the spirits of the dead.... they can do this because they know all about the departed and can mimic them to fool those who foolishly think they can contact the dead.... the forces of evil know where the family jewels are buried so they can give accurate information when called by those who have the conection with evil to call them up.
The souls of the departed do not come back or communicate in any way with the living.

There are no such things as ghosts for the Bible tells us that the dead cannot hear, see, or feel anything--"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:10
"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish." Psalm 146:4
Satan and his demons like to scare people. Sometimes they pretend to be people who have died. They may even imitate voices of those who have died. In this way the demons fool many into believing that dead people are alive and can talk with the living. Yes, the demons cause many people to believe in ghosts.
The Bible warns that Satan and his demons are intent on misleading mankind. They take advantage of mankind’s despair and hopelessness to offer attractive, but false, solutions. (2 Corinthians 11:14) Hence, the Bible warning: “In later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons.”—1 Timothy 4:1.
Christians need to listen to what the Bible really teaches about the dead. If they do, then they will not believe in ghosts, but will realize just how powerful Satan is in his quest to deceive us.

From a realistic standpoint, they are illusions and the claims of people with very active imaginations.

Ghosts dont exist. People who say they have seen ghosts most likely have seen demons. Maybe even angels. Satan apears as an angel of light, so people could even be confussed if they have seen an angel or not. Hope this answers ur question.

Everywhere there are energy creatures which exist in a different vibration field than ours. They cannot always be seen, but sometimes the 99% dormant 3rd eye which we hardly ever use becomes active and we can see these entities.
They are harmless and totally normall occurances.

There is no such thing as a ghost. What we call "ghosts" are nothing more than displaced and lost spirits. But they, too, will eventually find the light.
