1. Remove all nasty outer leaves
2. "Christen" them - make 2 deep cuts in the base of each sprout in the shape of a cross.
3. Place sprouts in a pan of boiling water to which you have addes some pitted (stoneless) prunes. Simmer until sprouts are tender.
4. Drain off liquid.
5. Add a little butter.
6. Place it all in a blender and blend.
7 Serve in peaks on each plate with your steak, roast pheasant, fish or what ever.
8. The colour, flavour and texture of the sprouts will tease and delight you and your guests. Don't tell them what it is!

I love sprouts! They're wonderful. People only say they don't like them because they've not had them cooked properly. Most people overcook them, and they end up all soggy and tasteless.
My mum boils them lightly in salted water til they're only just edibly soft. Then adds them to a deep frying pan with some turkey gravy and some cooked chestnuts (the kind that are predone and shelled and come vacuum packed) and lots of black pepper, and lets them simmer for a bit, until they're softer, but still with a bit of crunch, and the chestnuts are hot through. Chestnuts and sprouts together are perfect.

I absolutely love sprouts but only know how to eat them one way.
On a sandwich!
I love whole grain wheat bread
smothered with mayo and spicy brown mustard.
smoked peppered deli turkey slices
honey ham slices
avocado slices
fresh sliced tomato's
romaine lettuce
swiss cheese
cheddar cheese
a good size portion of sprouts!!
and some pepporcinis on the sandwich or a pickle on the side.
Be carefull this one could get alittle messy!!!!!

Basically mix in a little black pepper with some basic herb dressing and coat sprouts whislt still warm in the pot. Dont use too much as this will overpower the taste you want but it does add a certain "kick on" variant.

Boil in salted water. When done, put in food blender/mixer with some single or double cream poured over like a glaze, mix a bit until it looks like mash (but not smooth like puree).
First time I had it like this, I didn't even know I was eating those bitter green sprouts! I thought it was potatoes mashed with some sweeter green veg.

Brussels Sprouts? I complained about the taste to the Belgian Embassy, but they didn't reply.

I take it you mean Brussels sprouts:
Steam them, till fork tender, let cool until you can handle them.....cut in half, and then in a saute pan with some EV olive oil till they start to caramelize (start to brown).....Add about 4 Tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and 2 TBS granulated sugar and reduce it to a thick glaze........crumble some cooked bacon (I like to use about 1/2 lb) into the pan and stir to combine.......You get a sweet/sour/crunchy flavor, even the sprout "haters" love them this way........Give it a spin!!! Enjoy!!!

Put dots of butter over them when serving and a bit of fresh mint sprinkled over the top. My mum used to put a teaspoon of sugar in while cooking to make them a bit sweeter.
