Tell them that you are not interested and they usually go away, if they are still persistant, tell them that you don't believe their religion is right and that you'll never believe it. Ask them politely never to come back. If they still give you problems and won't leave simply call their mormon church and complain to their pastor.

I had two come to my house shortly after I moved. They had a Book of Mormon, I assume to give me, and asked me if I'd heard of it. I surprised them when I told them that I had read it and even had a copy of it upstairs in the library. I told them it was interesting book, but I did not believe it. They then proceed to start quoting the Bible that refers to the "other tribes". I told them that I was a Deist and we did not believe in the Bible. Their routine was now kind of messed up and they gave me some little slip to call them if I wished to speak to them more and to read the Book of Mormon again. I have done neither (I did look something up in it once for a question here on Yahoo Answers). They have not returned.
In short, if you don't want to talk to them, tell them your busy and politely excuse yourself. Otherwise, you may use it as an opportunity for a little entertainment. Take your pick.

why would you want to turn Mormons away? maybe instead of trying to make them go away you should be curious and try to find out about their beliefs. I am a Mormon and I know that it is true and I am so relieved that i don't have to go searching for the truth as many people do. I promise that this religion is true. the warm feeling you get when you really listen to the "missionaries" (why did you put that in quotes?) is the Holy Ghost testifying the truth of it. and you can even pray about it! If you pray to Father, in the name of Christ, with real faith and intent, then He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have tried it, and i asked if my religion was true. i was already sure, but i wanted to be more edified. and it worked! my immediate answer was a warm, happy, smiley, peaceful feeling that you don't get from anywhere else. the answer was YES! the religion does so much for me; it brings me happiness, peace of mind, joy, and a hunger to be taught more. it also makes me have a better attitude because i KNOW what i'm doing is correct and right. there's hardly a better feeling in the world.....
the religion is hopeful and wonderful. we believe that families can be together forever in the Kingdom of God based on the desires of our hearts. when Christ was on the earth, He organized a church. then when He died the world when into apostacy (no truth on the earth). when Joseph Smith saw his vision and translated, in 1830, the same church that was on the earth in Christ's time that He organized was restored! i know it's true. and it brings me such joy.....this religion is not a crutch. it's a SWORD to help us fight against the evils of the world that Satan brings and bring peace and happiness to all mankind! NO exaggerations there! :)
by the way, the full name of the church is The Chuch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So we ARE in fact, true Christians. define Christian.

I had the same problem, but then I decided to do a little home work, so when they asked me if I wanted to talk to them, I started quoting other religions beliefs, and asked them to explain some of what they take for truth, but have no idea why. Now they don't even come to my house!

I always get them with asking them to explain Mark 12:18-27 that says there are no marriages in heaven. This is one of their foundational beliefs. I have yet to meet a Mormon who can explain that. They usually leave scratching their heads.

sadly most of the time you have to be a bit rude with them to get them to shut up... Try just saying I have no desire to hear any about that...and just close the door... mormons do not really know about Jesus anyway. As they have not been told the truth about Salvation. So if you want to know about Jesus you need to go to a True Christian.

I have been approached a couple of times by them and others.
I tell them I am not interested ...really.
Have a good day.
I am sure they have developed pretty thick hides going door to door.
As long as you are civil its alright.

I am Buddhist, but I didn't turn them away, I invited them in, offered them a refreshment and talked with them. I pointed out my beliefs and assured them that they were welcome to come back if they still wanted to chat, but that I will not be converted. They didn't come back. They were very nice. Now I am waiting for the Jehovah's witnesses........

be polite but tell them you are really not interested, thank you very much. the last time they came to where I was living was in the process of cleaning house. told the two ladies would be glad to listen to them while we cleaned but guess they weren't interested in helping as they left rather hurriedly

Maybe you could invite them in to talk about it. I know you've said you've heard it all before. But maybe they can shed some much needed light on what they believe as Christians.
