I'm sure most people will be familiar with the sensation, its not pleasant, but what causes it?

Inventive answer The Mysterious One...shame I live in an old house. Plus the room spinning doesn't put off drinking...the hangover the next day tends to (for about 3 days anyway)

My fellow above is right....Your equilibrium nerve is placed in the ear and the alcohol reduces the speed of reaction, thus, you feel like going on one side and the world is turnin around :))

Your blood sugar fluctuating. Drinking in excess literally poisons you. If seriously over-done you can go into diabetic shock. Best thing to do is drink 2 glasses of water and eat something sugar "rich" like a full size candy bar. Why do people do this to themselves???

Actually ........the room is really spinning! Most newer homes are built with this feature installed into them to help prevent you from wanting to drink again! After all.....when the rooms spinning you do say to yourself....."I'll never drink again!!" don't you?

The booze messes up the signal path between your ears and eyes and your brain cannot process the information properly. The result is vertigo.
