he might, did you two exchange emails? phone numbers? keep in mind, he may not have a chance to call often, if at all,,,, and a rare chance to email,,,,, my daughters boyfriend is in the area,,,, not in such rough conditions as there or Iraq, and his calling and emailing chances are limited,,, she has had two phone calls in a month,,,,,,one of them could only last 5 mins. no its not the same thing, just trying to point out the difficulties,,,
also, perhaps he has mixed feelings and fears, about encouraging feelings between the two of you, until he comes back permanently,,,,, im not sure what you mean by the one weekend he only saw his mother, do you mean before he left? or has he had a chance for leave time since? either way,,, its a tension filled time for him,, i would wait till he comes home,,,,,,, see if he contacts you then, to know if he is interested

Take it easy hun, I am a vetern as well, and sometimes the mail can be up to 2-3 weeks late. I am sure he is fine. If you hear from him, tell him Merry Christmas from an old Vet.
