Well if any militant group does attack the Vatican I think that the global community will respond in a very strong and forceful way. Many more countries would send soldiers and money to different areas to fight these militants. As for the Vatican itself and all the Christians (not just the Catholics) we would mourn for the loss of the great city, but remember that Christ doesn't reside in building but in the hearts of the Christian faithful. Any force still present would be removed from the area (hopefully by a peaceful means) and the rebuilding process would begin. The faith in Christ is in us and no amount of weaponry or hate can destroy that.
