Was your question related to Bacterial vaginosis which is what many women get that is characterized by that 'fishy odor'? I included a link below. It doesn't really say that men get it or need treatment, but does indicate that men may transfer it from woman to woman...if multiple sex partners.

The doctor is right...men can get bacterial infections in different areas of the body. Bacteria that invade the body, won't discriminate on where it takes up a home and grow.

Any one can get a bacterial infection if exposed to it.
