It is easy to see why they are using you. If you even need somebody to tell you what to do, it suggests that you are easily TOLD what to do, if you see what I mean. You just have to take a firm stand. NO is one of the smallest, simplest, most easily pronounced words in any language. You are going to have to practise using it. You might be surprised to discover how well it works - once the "users" you are complaining about get over the shock of their own discovery - that you have a backbone and have started using it.
Of course, I am taking it that you are a fully grown independent adult with the right to do whatever it is you want to do. You haven't really said, either, what you mean by "break away from" The only way you are being held against your will would be if you are still a minor, in which case nothing I said applies. If you ARE an adult, you simply knot up all your worldly possessions in your spotted handkerchief, attach it to the end of your pole, sling the pole over your shoulder, and walk out the door.
Consider very carefully, though, before getting quite that dramatic about your exit. Think hard about any comforts and conveniences that you presently enjoy while you remain in the bosom of your family. It's a very harsh world out there, full of strangers who do not owe you one darn thing. A lot of people who act hastily end up finding themselves in a much worse condition than the one they were "escaping" from. .

There isn' t really a way to break away from your family but if you feel that they are using you, try saying NO more.

We show people how they can treat us, I am assuming you are a very kind and gentle person which can make it hard to say no. Don't break away, just keep a distance and work on doing what is right for you.

You don't need to break away............you just need to learn to say NO. They can only use you, if you allow them to.

learn how to say NO ....I know that it can be hard....but just keep in mind you don't have to say it in a mean way....just be polite about it and say something along the lines of.....

"I'm sorry I can't right now."
"No I can not do that."

Make yourself unavailable.
