Call your airline and/or travel agent NOW. Do not contact them by email! If you don't have a phone (?), see if your airline's website offers chat support.
Here's what you have to do: Go to the airport (right now!), be really nice, and you will most likely be put on the next flight out.
If your bags made the flight but you didn't, you can pick them up at your destination airport. If you were going to take any connecting flights after this one, call that airline (if it's different), explain to them the situation, and they'll probably put you on a flight that you will be able to take. Your bags, however, will most likely make it the whole way to your final destination without you.
You may have to pay a fee. This could be up to $100 on some airlines.
Good luck!

for one, get off this website and call the airline now!! (Or if u're at the airport, go find the station manager and look really sadly at him and cook up a dog/cat/children story that you left on the stove or something.)

If you missed a full-board airline chances are they will put you on the next flight with a minimal fee. If you missed a LCC flight, get ready to fork out $$ to buy a totally new ticket for the next flight.
