I love broccoli raw, dipped into Ranch dressing. If putting it on baked potatoes, boil until cooked to desired texture and mix with a cheese sauce, spoon over cooked, split potatoes while everything is still hot. Season well with Salt and Pepper. Bacon bits on the top are good too!

for a baked potato, blanch the broccoli for 3 min in boiling water then put in an ice bath to stop the cooking process. The broccoli will have its bright green color, a slightly soft out side, but alot of crunch at the end.

Cut the broccoli into small florets. Place in a pan with boiling salted water for 2 minutes. Strain, and cool. In a frying pan, place 3 Tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp finely minced garlic. Toss in the broccoli and stir fry for about 3 minutes or until for tender. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve on top of your baked potatoes that have been prepared to your liking. I even serve this as a side dish..YUM!

Eat it raw after rinsing with tap water. Steaming it in a microwave (1 to 3 minutes) by placing it stem down into some water in a cup or mug is a good idea. Boiling it in water for several minutes will cause loss of vitamins; boiling it longer even more so; but it will be softer for someone with no teeth.

you can eat broccoli raw
you can also cook it
my favorite method cooking broccoli is ...
wash....pat dry...put on plate and microwave for a few minutes...I like mine still a bit crisp...so don't over cook.
I also would eat my paked potato seperately from the broccoli....each has a very distinct taste of its own.

You can have it raw but it will be bitter, rather cook it and than add some white sauce, which will be great with the potatoes.
