If you are in the UK, there are several training centres that teach to CITB standards. One training centre at Kings Lynne, Norfolk teaches a month long residential course that costs approx £3,000 although there are grants available. Sparrows cranes offer similar training in the South West. Once you have the CITB certificate, you should be able to find work, obviously starting on simple job sites and working to more complex jobs.
