no it isn't...some dairy i.e. milk is good for dogs...but too much can overload there digestive system as they are somewhat lactose intolerant. Lay off giving it to your pup for a while...and from then on just in small amounts every now and then.

Cultured dairy products such as yoghurt and cheese are actually good for dogs in moderation. there is something about the fermentation process that changes the lactose in milk. My suggestion is that if you want your dog to have extra calcium buy a vitamin supplement powder and add that to its food because at least then you know exactly what its getting. Cheese is great as an occasional treat and yoghurt is good to keep the good intestinal bacteria levels up but only 2 tspns a day are necessary.

Cow milk is bad for dogs unless it is cultured like yogurt, cottage cheese. Goats milk is okay, but I wouldn't recommend it for a puppy your dogs age. There are many good brands of food designed for large breed puppy and some specifically for German Shepherd. You can add a few spoons of yogurt or cottage cheese to the food and best to feed twice a day. You can also add the same amount of Pumpkin Pie Filling, plain and not spiced. This is very good for them.

Dairy can give your dog worms. On top of that it does make them sick. Talk to your vet, I know some people said it was okay, but I personly dont think it is good for a dog. They make dog food with yogurt in it for dogs. Thats going to be way more heathy then feeding your dog milk.

Oh boy, dairy isn't toxic to dogs. However, I think you may have overdone. The puppy food out there now is well fortified with all the nutrients you pup needs. Yogurt and cottage cheese are good, but not for their main food. More like a people food treat, so to speak. Stick with the dog food--Purina Pro Plan for Puppies is all natural--expensive and you can't get it in most grocery stores, but you dog will thrive on it. Good luck with your pup.

I don't think all dairy products are bad for dogs just you have to feed them in moderation if at all. I know that if a dog eats regular american cheese it is ok because one of my family members has been feeding their dog ( 10 year old Pomeranian) this for many years. Hope that helps!

dairy isn't toxic, but high levels of dairy could make it sick. cut back on the milk. try only giving puppy milk like once or twice a week.
