It is in the nature of the people to fight about something.Today they mostly fight about the religion. If there was no religion, the people would find something else to fight about for instance money, oil, precious stones, fight just because it is boring,it is in the nature of the people to be destructive. The humans are perfect creatures that can spawned by any fool. Finally I do not think that without religion world be a nicer place to live it would be more or less the same with the only difference that the people would keep on fighting for some other concepts.

That is a very difficult question. First, let me start by saying I am an atheist, but I am not sure that religion has lost its usefullness to human society as a whole.

Many people seem to need the comfort of religion. I totally understand that. Its difficult to go through hard times when you feel its all for nothing. The idea that good will triumph in the end is a great consoler. When you see someone die at a young age, or after a very difficult disease, its nice to think they are in heaven. There are times that I wish I had that.

The other thing, even more important to society, is that many people seem to need religion to live moral lives. The "fear of god" really does keep people in line. I think this is unfortunate, but true. I am a very moral person, but I base my morality on common sense. Being "good" is good for me and society at large.

If there wasn't faith you incredibly think of the international could be to any extent further effective? Wars could be in line with money, land , and a super type of alternative issues. incredibly the final public of huge wars contained in the previous have been appropriate to the flaws indexed above. And asserting that religions is assumed in blindly is nonsense. in case you opt for some exciting information look into Lee Strobel. i'm particular you have a minimum of heard of him. there are a number of stuff that element in direction of Jesus and the supernatural. i'm no longer bashing different religious ideals, yet once you opt for to assert "blind ideals" you ought to to coach slightly greater effective. i'm particular you're no longer a scientist, for this reason you "blindly believe" in evolution. Sorry for the assumption yet atheism and evolution often pass hand in hand. Now i'm no longer asserting that there are no longer Christians and others who do walk blindly down the path the church has set. in any case, my element is that this, the international does no longer be to any extent further effective with out extremists, because of the fact the folk who act irrationally might do an analogous under distinctive circumstances.

The world would be a better place today if we all just accepted each others differences and beliefs. It's not the religion that causes problems, it's the fanatical people in some of those religions that cause wars and violence.

No, but the world would probably be a better place today without those who would do away with religion.

Yes, if you took religion (manmade belief in how to justify his own sins to gain eternal salvation) out of the world, and just had the Word of God, the world would be a better place. The bible says that there is nothing man can do to save himself from the wrath to come but through repenting( turning from your sins ) and proclaiming Jesus Christ the Lord of their life. Then get a bible read it and do what it says daily.

The world would be a better place without greed, intolerance, ignorance, violence and hatred. If anybody seriously believes you can remove these by getting rid of religion, you simply don’t have a clue about human behavior.

Not, it wouldn't. Religion has been responsible for many of the advances -scientific, medical, artistic, cultural - that have have taken place since the beginning of time. As a culture, we are better off today than we were 5,000 years ago.

Well, yes -- but only if we replaced religion with real education to eliminate ignorance.
If we took away religion and left people ignorant, they'd have to find some other crutch for their minds to hang on to...and though it's horrible to think about, they might even come up with something WORSE than religion! If that's possible...:)

It'd be a great world without religion and with little or no ignorance. Absolutely. A GREAT world. Nobody starting a war in god's name, no shiites killing sunnis, no crusades, no televangelists spreading hate and screaming about people going to hell...ahhh :)
