Can you answer this Riddle?

Question

I turn polar bears white
and I will make you cry.
I make guys have to pee
and girls comb their hair.
I make celebrities look stupid
and normal people look like celebrities.
I turn pancakes brown
and make your champane bubble.
If you sqeeze me, I'll pop.
If you look at me, you'll pop.
Can you guess the riddle?

97% of Harvard graduates can not figure this riddle out, but 84% of kindergarten students were able to figure this out in 6 minutes or less.

No, I cannot answer this riddle.. The kindergartners answered this question before the harvard people cause they didnt know and the harvard graduates didnt want to give up, right?

If the answer is indeed "no", then it is not a riddle at all, it is a question, A long and convoluted question at that.
I've seen the poem that has been posted and that seems to make sense to me that this riddle may be based on a poem. Also, for the answers "pressure" and "salt", I think, if the answer to a riddle needs to be explained too much, then it's not the right answer. Furthermore, why are we to assume that it's true that 97% of Harvard students didn't get this riddle, but 84% of kindergarteners did. I could have made that little addendum up as well. And where is this scientific study? How did the person testing these large amounts get such a sample as to ensure that it's representative of the Harvard student body, or of Kindergarteners.

I've searched this for some time now, and it's apparent that many people also have, and i have one conclusion. No one knows the right answer.

If it was based on the poem, then you'd have to know the poem to solve the riddle so the riddle is pointless. The answer "time" has far too many holes in it otherwise.

If the answer is "no", then, as I said, this isn't a riddle at all. It's someone having fun at our expense.

Anyways, just some thoughts on this, i'm done with the whole thing now.

I turn polar bears white(gaslight-I imagine tht polar bear can also be the one in the sky..If stars have gaslight..Ok too much imagination)
