6 months ago I got Carpal Tunnel on my wrists. When I first got CTS it was bad. I couldn’t brush my teeth without my wrist bothering me and the pain was going up to the my elbow. When I got CTS I started wearing a wrist brace with a splint and helped the pain. 2 months after I got CTS I saw a doctor and he said I was in the road to recovery and to continue wearing the wrist brace. After seeing the doctor my wrist were getting better, but if I lift anything or put any strain on my wrist (even if it’s minor) they start to bother me. I would like to know how long it will probably take for my wrist to get back to normal without having to worry about having CTS?

Thanks,
Mari

I am sceptical about doctors in some regards and this is one of them. I do computer animation and spent a lot of time wagging a mouse around. About 3-4 years ago my wrist started to get all pins and needles and hurt as soon as I touched the mouse. Then I started doing some strenuous work on the outside. Within a short period of time the problem went away.

I think the secret is to break up your routine with some sort of activity that is completely different. It seemed to correct itself for me, so I bet if you got involved with some radically different physical actions it would get better faster. I'd say screw the wrist brace.

I think in somce cases like this doctors like to capitalize on the problem rather than fix it, that's how they make their money.
