Is it haram to own an animal such as , dog, cat, bird if not then can i wash myself from touching them before praying if i had one??

We have two angels, one on our right side writing down our good deeds and the other on our left side writing down our bad deeds. When a dog barks it scares those angels away, also being licked and touched by a dog reguarly will breal your wudu making u unclean.
Cat, bird, fish etc we can keep them but we should treat them kindly and not just lock them up in a cage all the time. We are forbidden to have animals in a cage, if you do then that animal will be doing Dua to Allah to curse you for mistreating them.
Conclusion, keep an animal that is easy to keep you know it doesnt make much mess. Make sure you give it freedom to an extent, keep it happy, feed it. I suggest you get a gold fish ;) because they will never harm a fly.
